So Long As I Breathe

I feel you float

Drifting all around me

Like the smoke

In the air

You keep me warm

When I’m alone

I ask, if only you can save me

Is that what you wanted me to see

So many times I could have fallen down

My head spinning

Trying to reconcile what’s good and what’s true

So many times I almost turned around

But I’m less afraid of failing than of bailing on you

Maybe I’ll lose my breath

Though I might bite my tongue

Weight ain’t in what we say

It’s in what we do

I may be out of time

I may be out of my mind

Nothing will stand in my way

On my way to you

So long as I breathe

I keep you close

So take it slow

If we get there at all

It will still be before you know

It’s all part of the process

The more you learn

The more you grow

You give me reason to hope

In the end, what if I can save me

Is that what you wanted me to see

Maybe I’ll lose my breath

Though I might bite my tongue

Weight ain’t in what we say

It’s in what we do

I may be out of time

I may be out of my mind

Nothing will stand in my way

On my way to you

Maybe I’ve fallen behind

Or if I’ve crossed the line

That won’t change a thing

That won’t change the truth

I will find a way how

So long as I breathe

I won’t let you down

I will find a way how

So long as I breathe
